Hello my dears,
I have a friend who has a 2015 Q70 and is asking about the rear power sunshade.
The sunshade automatically goes down when he puts the gear on Revers and has to press the button to let it go up.
He is now asking if there is any way of programming it to go up automatically once he puts the gear on Drive mode?

Welcome to the site. Might be something that can be programmed with the CONSULT computer that all dealers should have and some private mechanics might...via the BCM (Body Control Module).
However, mine (2011) doesn't move unless I tell it to. I'll have to try in reverse...it may be because they expect you to look out the rear window.
What if he goes just from P to D (going forward)? Does it still go down?

Yep mine does the same thing when put in reverse.

I am pretty sure the law requires the shade to go down when backing up. I would be surprised if a dealer could change that.
Also, didn't you tint your rear windows? Once I tinted mine, I never used the shade again.

What the OP wants changed is the sunshade to go back up when he puts the car in drive after reversing.
Dito on the tint, limo tint and no need for the sunshade. Still cool to push the button and watch it go up though :p

Limo tint is great for protecting the rear deck from fading, etc but at night it is much harder for the driver to see through. The rear shade is great because it keeps glare off the rear view mirror but still allows a good view of whats actually IN the rear view mirror. I went with one step above limo tint and have no issues seeing everything in my rear view mirror even with the shade up.
As for the rear shade, mine does not lower itself when in reverse. I don't know if the previous owner had it modified or if the idea of automatic lowering was added after the 09 model year.

adeedpb got me. My friend want it to go up automatically once the gear is on Drive. I have tried to search online but could find anything related to that.
He doesn't want to use the tint as Larz mentioned that it's hard to see anything at night.
