Rear number plate lights

I have a Nissan sunny 1.4lx auto 1993, just found my rear number plate lights not working, have changed the bulbs and checked the fuses but eveything is ok.Any ideas as to why they are not working and what else I could check. All advice appreciated Thanks

You got a connection problem . Since those lights work on the tail light circuit you gotta have a problem with either the connectors going to the lights or the light sockets them selves.
