that would be a hell of alot of intercooler pipeing. i saw ur post in a mad old thread, your going for a roof scoop that routes to the rear mount intercooler.

Before the flaming begins, let me kinda help you out

Rear mounting an intercooler provides lots of problems.. -Piping length the length of pipe would be expensive for bends, lots of weight front alot of aluminum pipe-Airflow will be a Pain, you would have to have 2 electric fans, with vents in the rear, asssuming you mount it in the trunk? i hope your not thinking under the car, there wouldnt be enough clearance. -Boost loss / boost lag (expecially if you are wanting to achieve 600+whp, You will have a GINORMOUS turbo that wont spool until 4500+

Is it possible, YesIs it worth it, No.

Your typical FMIC 32x20x3" Mounted in front with a water sprayer should be able to assist you in 600+ whp.

you are right i just wanted to see if anyone has ever done or heard of it being done before. i see everyone else's 240sx and honestly they all look the same but maybe some different mod's i want to build something uniqe but sick.the one thing i just bought are the volk gt-7 which i have never seen on a 240sx i dont know why they are the sickest rims that they make at $750 per rim maybe thats why. i also own a 95 supra running at 750whp at 26psi but we all know the supra is the sickest tuner car besides the skyline gtr

Your best bet would be to keep a fmic and do a remote mount turbo. Then you have pipign to the front which will cool down the air then the fmic itself. You plan on drag circuit street? Why not just get an intercooler sprayer....

yea i dont know why you would want to do that in the first place cuz like everyone else said boost loss hella piping and just too much of a hasle. what i would sugjest is a top mount intercooler with hood risers and a hood scoop. that would be the easyest and less time consuming so yea happy building that rb25 post some pics when your done

I am new to this whole thing so sorry for this harsh comment but the rear mounted turbo is stupid in my opinion.

i know a person who has mounted turbos on the rear of three cars.

1. corvette twin turbo

2. camaro first twin turbo then a singel turbo from a huge truck.mounted in back seat of car , sounds and looks cool but what about lag.

3. gt-45 on a mustang gt-350 mounted near the diff.he said it did not spool up till about 4500 rpm.on a car that redlines at abround 6500rpm that is not much of a power band.

tried to get me to do as well. not buying it

there is a simple reality, the farther the exhaust has to travel to the turboand the farther the intake air has to travel to get to manifold is going to mean lag(regardless of turbo characteristics)

correct me if I am wrong but that is the impression I getregarding the physics of it.

somethings are cool to do that are different because you are braking social norms based in ignorance( like crossing the import/domestic line, this straight borders on racism only applied to cars ,same mentality)

I am installing turbo charged 327 in my 240with hydrogen supplementation.

some things are not done because they are not efficient or beneficial. if you want to do something different go ahead just know it has already been done on other cars and is only different for a 240 as we know it.I would not go so far as to make my car different by sacrificing drivability or performance.

who you trying to be different for anywase?

sorry, not in a good mood so I am not holding back.but i mean everyword.

rear mounted intercooler is not effective, being different isn't worth the expense and loss in performance. there are other ways to be unique, save that money for pistons and rods.

People's 240s are similar for a reason...Because it works.

And I call s*** on your Supra.

volk gt7 on a 96 240unless your car got put in a mag real quickand you decided on a rb26dett instead of rb25 . it has been done.

[IMG][/IMG]

hope you did not blow 3000 on rims to be different?

could have gotten some decent rims and a full 300zx brake upgrade .

lol this is such a pointless idea. wanna be different? put a skyline gtr front on, that would make a hell of alot more sense than this. my 0.02
