First off, i would like to say that this is strictly theoretical and for my own educational purpose. Lately i have been toying with the idea of reincarnating two Rear mid-engine Nissan sportcars. One of them would be the Mid-4 MkII concept of the late 80's. This car utilizes a rear mounted vg30dett mated to an awd system similar to the skyline gtr.
- My question here would be, what would it take to recreate this engine layout using a gtr drive train?(Assuming i am building a custom chassis and suspension)Can i maintain the rear wheel bias? Would it be as simple as basically flipping everything around?
- also, I am not too educated on chassis designs, save some googling, but would a tubular space frame be adequate for making a chassis while keeping the traditional style doors. ( i read that you have to reinforce below the door, resulting in funky gullwings that i don't really like...)

The second car is the r390 gt1 road version. I understand that this car is pretty similar to a jag xjr-15. It uses a carbon fiber monocque chassis and a twin turbo 3.5 version of the vh. I was thinking of how cool a vk56de version of this would be.
-what transaxle options do i have with this? I know that i can always get a fancy-pants one for "one mirrion," but If i were to build this, i would be building it as the "modernized and affordable version." So what options do i have as far as affordable production parts that would also handle the torque and keep the engine longitudinal.

Basically, This thread is the discussion of building road worthy Nissan cars from scratch. So questions and answers and... stuff along those lines are welcome.
What is not welcome are comments along the lines of, "Hurr duurrr that is going to be WAAAAAy to much fabrication for you, BUDDY! Might, as well get a GTR STUPID, HURRRR DURRR HERP!"

"naw-mean?"
