I bought my 05 Altima SE 3.5 back in October of 2014. Currently I have a rear main seal that is leaking. Car is under warranty until next year. The dealership was trying to screw me out of fixing it stating the oil pan was the leak originally. Luckily I had a mechanic take a look at it. He said no way the oil pan is leaking, the oil is dripping down over the transmission. He said its the rear main seal. I took it back to the dealership today and had them look at it again. This time they agreed it was the main seal.

Is this normal? It only has 76,000 miles on it. I'm disappointed in the dealership for lying to me and this car having this issue with average miles on it. How much work is it to change and how much does a dealership charge to do this? Since they lied to me about the oil pan leaking they are paying my deductable and giving me a loaner car while it gets fixed.
