I was wondering how hard it is to replace the rear main on the 240 when the clutch is being replaced at the same time. do I have to remove the engine from the motor mounts and pull the oil pan off? I keep getting different answers. thanks. rob.

If you pull the flywheel be ready to replace those bolts that hold the flywheel on though. They aren't the reusable type. When I was torquing one down after putting on the flywheel one broke in half at like 25 ft/lb! That kinda got me scared. I ordered new ones from the Nissan dealer, something like $46 with shipping.

mine went back on fine, are you sure they didn't snap at 125 lb/ft?

Yeah, I'm sure. In the book it says to replace them if they have been retorqued more than twice or if they are more than two years old. Something like that. I just thought maybe I could get away with it like you Ground Zero. When I called the Nissan dealer he said he has had people order the exact same bolts that I did so I'm not the only one. Trust me though, it's not fun having to worry about how you are going to remove a piece of a bolt from your crankshaft. Take your chances if you want though. You might get away with it, you might not.
