I am replacing bushings on my 240sx and have finished the front end. I replaced the front lower control arms because the ball joints were toast after removal. My friend/mechanic advised that the rear would probably be toast after removing the c/a and I should have new ones ready to put in.

My question is do I need a complete lower control arm or can the replacement ball joints sold for the front lower control arms fit the rear?

I did post this in the 240 tech section but have not received a response yet so maybe this forum is more applicable to the question. Thank you for you help.

no, i think the balljoints are different. i did bushings for a buddy and he had to get new rear lower arms because the ball joints were shot and we could not find new ones.

thanks for the info. I guess I will have to order the rear arms to get the ball joint, oh well it will save me the time of pressing out the old joints.

yeah, that really is a pain on nissans stamped steel control arms. i always manage to bend them a little.
