anyone drill 2 bottom holes for the rear license plate. I put dynamat behind my plate and it still rattles bad and I think it would help if i had the 2 bottom holes drilled. has anydone done this? do you have to put the square white things in like the top holes?

Your plate rattles? How do you even hear that when driving?

I had the same problem with the rattle from my sound system. I put one layer of raammat on the back of the plate, followed by a layer of ensolite foam padding so it would not scratch the car. I'm using a chrome license plate frame, and also needed to secure the bottom two holes on the plate. I bolted the plate to the frame using very short flat head bolts from the inside, and an acorn nut on the ouside of the frame. (I didn't want to drill holes in the trunk). This helped alot for me. Hope it works for you.

I tried using double sided tape, dynamated the plate, use foam for the edges, sound insulated the trunk lid, and i STILL have a rattle! The people who only used foam and double sided tape, do you guys have a sub in the trunk?

LongBeach, The foam is a 1/8" thick foam padding that was cut to the size of the license plate, and then spray glued on the back flat.

notaverage, I have (2) 12" subs in the trunk. The key for me were the bolts on the bottom holes of the plate frame

I don't want to drill into the trunk either, I'll give this a try, seems pretty straight forward

Just put a strip of foam between the license plate and the trunk. My car came with 1 small piece of foam between the license plate and trunk. Or maybe used padded double sided tape?

the license plate sits in side the frame. frame is about 1/4 inch deep so its only way to do it would be around the frame and that wnould be visible.

Anyone have any idea why they didn't put more than two holes?

I'm gonna try the double sided tape thing myself, but i can see the tape eventually losing its stick and falling off.
