So after fighting to release this crumpled mass of metal (my LCA) from the two subframe mounting points, things were starting to look up. I took out the retainer clip, took off the nut that supposedly holds the lca balljoint to my axel assembly/brake housing dealy. I pull the nut off give the lca a good yank, and it doesn't budge. Smoke it a few times with a hammer, nothing. I figured this piece was supposed to slide out. I thought the ball joint comes out with the lca and at first i thought it might be threaded in but that make no sense looking at it's design (more specifcally it has no threads there)

So what do i have to do to split the ball joint from the axel assembly? Short of hitting it with a bus...

Thanks

It's the mounting point closest to the wheel for those who have no idea what i'm talking about...

Thats a great picture of what happens when you slide into a curb doing 70km/h
