Also my rear hatch window is hitting the hatch frame. Anyone have any quick and dirty fixes for that?

Or anyone know how to tighten those hinges on the window? I looked at it and I have no idea how those might be fixed.

Really don't want that thing to hit too much and crack or bust on me. And I drive on rough potholed roads every day and hear it clack hard on the frame.

Well there are supposed to be two little rubbet gasket-like pieces (one on each side) that are designed for that. Mine do their job just fine but if they weren't, and my window was crackling like yours, I would take some dynamat and put it around the edges. Unfortunately, Dynamat looks like aluminum foil so you would see it everytime you popped the window, but it is definitely the right size/consistency for the task.

The hinge pins on my hinges had started to come out which caused the window to rattle. I used a C-clamp to press it back in as far as I could. I covered the hinge with towels before working on it which almost kept it from getting scratched, but nothing a black Sharpie couldn't fix.

Unfortunately, I think it needs to be driven in with a hammer, but I can't do that on the vehicle because you can't support the other side of the hinge and driving the pin through would probably snap it off.

Mine still sticks out a little, but the window is completely quiet. I have been watching it and the pin appears to be working its way back out.

Another thing I did was put a small piece of mouse pad in the center of the little rubber pads on each corner of the window. I did this before I discovered the loose hinge pin and it quieted them down but didn't stop it completely.

Yeah, I think driving those puny little pins back in would not be good.

I was thinking some sort of rubber stops on the window edges would be best. I plan on eventually replacing those hinges with the non wing supports type.

Btw, I think I caused this by hauling a couch. I shut the hatch but had to leave the window open for clearance. I used a bungee cord to hold the window down and then drove 25 miles on the freeway. I'm sure I hurried the situation along doing that.

I doubt that the couch hauling did it. I don't know the furniture transport history of my vehicle, but since you and Ihave it and I think KoukiS14 had it too, it is probably a defect. Here is a pic of mine before I did anything. It basically was not contacting the hinge tongue on the opposite side at all.

After working on it, it is touching the other side, but it is only a hair into the hole. Since it appears to be working its way out again, I will probably remove the hinge from the vehicle and hammer the pin in against a hard surface like an anvil. Once those "fins" are set into the aluminum hinge, I can't see them slipping out. My guess is that they weren't properly seated from the factory.

I should mention that this is only on the driver's side. The passenger side pin is in there nice and snug ans not going anywhere.
