I've got a 2000 LE. I have no switch or lever to open the rear hatch. Has anybody upgraded there's to a electric release?

You are referring to the rear glass hatch, correct? I'm not aware of anybody retrofitting it, nor have I ever looked into doing so. I don't remember which years have the option.

Either the glass or the main hatch or both. I'm getting sick of having to use a key. Which I'm sure I'm not the only one.

You're talking something along the lines of this? I figure it could be done. It's not going to be very easy though. A wiring guru would have to be in charge of a project like this.

Yea overwest just like that but that tahoe works of the factory remote. I want it to work off a switch and a remote. I know all i need is a actuator and a button in the dash and the wiring ran to work off the switch. As far as the remote i have to get a alarm then wire the alarm in.
I will not drill a hole anywhere to mount the switch.
I've been trying to find a factory switch for under the radio but no luck. Does anybody know what all the blanks are for? I have the 2 seat heaters and that's all.

fueler- I have no switch for the rear hatch. And my gas door is cable driven..

Has anybody examined exploded parts views to determine what is required to retrofit this button? Is the open mechanism electronic or does it simply pull a cable to open the hatch just as the gas filler lid does?

That's an option I wish I had. I hate opening the rear glass because I have to use the key and it locks all the doors in order to open the rear glass.

I second that wish.
