Yep... hard to believe. Considering the Rogue has been out for a couple years you'd think finding replacement hatch struts would be easy to find by now. That said... here's another thread on the subect:Weberrider wrote:I am having a hard time finding an on line vendor who sells replacement rear hatch struts for my Rogue. My right strut is leaking and the hatch will not stay open. Do any of you know where I can order one? A lot of sites sell the Stabilus struts but so far I cannot find one that has them for the Rogue.I am not near a Nissan dealer so I would rather order on line and have it shipped to me directly.
These are as close as I've been able to find. They are not advertized as being "specifically" made for the Rogue... but instead claim to be a universal support that will fit the Rogue. Price isn't too bad at $23.99philipa_240sx wrote:I have yet to see aftermarket struts.
I recently had my hatch struts replaced under warranty.Jostudly wrote:I can wiggle both my struts back and forth a bit and my dealer told me that is normal and would not replace them. I am not sure if they are now covered since my 3 yr warranty is now up. I do find that the hatch does not go up all the way now like it used too and they should be replaced with stronger ones. Does anyone else have some play back in forth in their struts?
My experience, with just getting my struts replaced, is that you may be disappointed with the new Nissan ones. My brand new struts don't always fully extend the gate (you can hear it near the top of the range slowly lifting the hatch) in normal weather. I think my original struts may have actually performed better in that regard so I wonder if the quality is hit and miss on these parts....kerrton wrote:Hi there,
I'm considering replacing my rear hatch lift supports, but want to be sure that the replacements will be enough of an improvement to justify the cost and trouble. Has anyone replaced these and if so what was the result? Did you go with OEM Nissan or aftermarket such as Monroe? At the JCWhitney site you can purchase Monroe aftermarket hatch lifts for $16-$17 range and they ship to Canada for $9! The price sounds almost too good to be true when you compare to OEM Nissan which are over $100 each.
What I really want is more lift power so the hatch opens on its own with minimal assistance and holds in the open position even in cold winter temps. Thanks.
welcome to the forum. thank you for adding this to the growing list of alternatives to the dealer. great way to start your membership here!UxbridgeBill wrote:Forgive me for dragging up an old post, my first post to this forum. I have a used 2010 Rogue (bought in July2012) and the rear struts are no longer holding up the door. Dealer wants $200 Cndn.Ea. plus taxes. I found these Stabilus struts at Princess Auto, they are about 1" shorter than the OEM ones. The door goes up and down with no problems and holds open with no issues except that the door doesn't go up as far (an inch to two inches below where it use to stop), if your tall it may be a problem. $30 Cndn.Ea. plus taxes. Can't get image to imbed to this post so here are the details. SKU#8389132, extended length 19.69",stroke length 8.04", 85Lbs.capacity, doesn't care about left or right side.
