Rear hatch strut replacement

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Anyone know if Nissan came out with some better gas struts for the rear hatch? The struts on early 08 have never liked cold weather.

I'd be interested to know this too. Do owners of newer EXes complain about the hitch in cold weather?

Mine slowed down when temps dropped below 40 f... replaced under wty. No questions asked....even when I took it there and it was in the 70's and working fine. They just replaced them anyway. (now it opens quite a bit higher than before!)

Had mine replaced a few years back on my '08. Still doesn't open all the way in cold weather. Will get them replaced again before the warranty runs out and hopefully the newer ones are stronger!
