Rear hatch seal p/n help

Hi all
I have a
2018 Rogue SV Premium 2 row Awd (korea made).
VIN KNMAT2MV2JP602520

I bought a rear hatch seal p/n 90830-6FL0A, because my dog tore parts of the seal exiting my suv.

The seal fits but hatch wont close all the way and lock.
There were 2 numbers available when i searched
90830-4CC0B and 90830-6FL0A when i looked up oem nissan parts.
I used my Vin to search for part, both part numbers came up, website said both fit.

I cannot for the life of me figure out.
Is the reason the hatch not closeing because seal is new?,
The wrong seal?
or after installing a new rear hatch seal does the installer/Me have to adjust the locking mechanism?

The old seal i put back on and its working fine, other than rips and tears...lol
The old and new seal do look similar.

Those gaskets usually need to be stretched a bit to fit right when new. If it's too humped to let the hatch close, try adjusting the bump stops on the door slightly to put a little less tension on the lock.
