Rear hatch/glass struts

Has anyone ever replaced the rear hatch struts or glass struts? Is it just a simple removal of a clip or is it more involved.

Also what brand do you use?

my buddy got some for his pathfinder rear hatch, off ebay for $30+ship

My buddy has zero mechanical skills, and he did the shocks by himself with just an adjustable crescent wrench (its the only tool he has) and even he says it was easy. So that means anybody can do it.
