I have an s14, but am looking more and more at getting a convertible for my sr swap, Ive seen that one of you guys has done a front end conversion, and wide body fenders, saves me from asking about that, but what about rear wide-body fenders? thanks guys...

i don't see why the wide body rears wouldn't work. You'd have to do some trimming and major fitting work to get them to work, though. Hell, I know I've considered it at one point.

Yep - can be done with coupe fenders.

I "test-fitted" a set once.

Lots of blending and bodywork, but would be HOT.

the only trouble my top ever gave me was when the weld for one of the rivets that holds a connecting piece between to of the boughs broke. The rivet fell out, and the connecting piece lodged itself so that the top wouldn't close. That was fixed by shoving a clevis pin in there.

The rear window when it gets some age on it can be fragile, but that's the nature of plastic. I've only ever broken one when I put the top down in the middle of december when I was installing some speakers in the back.

Other than that, the top is generally trouble free. The only real issues we have are the quarter windows. They have plastic clips on them that can break and cause the window to fall off track. If I could make them out of metal, I would.
