I really don't like that term, but I've always wondered...

Was posi-trac a viscous, helical, or clutch type differential?

Most commonly it is a clutch type limited slip

Definitely, Positraction is a clutch type limited slip differential:http://www.drivetrain.com/eatonposi.htmlIf your going to go that route, I would recommend a KAAZ.

Personally for daily driving I would recommend a S15 helical. Its less noisy, doesn't make clunking sounds on sharp corners.
