have any 240 owners done this:http://courtesyparts.com/Merch...00004

i'm thinking of putting in a different final drive ratio on the J and since they seem to easily swap out between the J and 240 hopefully I could install this. looks like i would need a new speedo to to compensate for the gearing change.Advice?Words of wisdom?oh yeah,i don't care about gase mileage.

I'm thinking about changing to those gears myself the gas mileage would be ****ty but you would have a hell of a start and yes it will need a new speedo gear

You might want to look at the 4.63 its cheaper by like 30 bucks

You can get the 4.08 complete (bolt-in) for less $$$. This looks like it's just the gears... Building a rearend is quite a job (far from a DIY). Hard to get it just right.

I must agree, the ratio would be quite nice!

4.63! that might be too much of a good thing. i think the 4..36 will be just right. but if it all fits i'll do it. those things sure are expensive for what they are. I hope courtesy nissan is cool with return if it doesn't work!

4.10 or so?

I know swapping an n/a diff into a 300zx tt will do some damage ;)

you probably confused him because you have an infiniti. that place is pretty cool, though. it's not like a normal parts desk at a dealer, it's more like a parts store. they charge less on the internet than in person, i paid an extra 2 bucks for a 300zxTT radiator cap. they also have a 300zxTT long block for sale that you can look at while you're waiting.

shouldn't have confused him. i've learned my leason before and i never mention the word infiniti when looking for parts. i usually refer to my car as a 300zx or in this case a 240.
