I'm just getting tired of that 167k clunk in the rear. Where exactly can I get shims for the pinion and everything? Can you order these from autozone or places like that?

Well you need to know what size you will need. The OEM part numbers are in the FSM. But its a hassle, just get a new diff at this point if your just rocking the open end diff.

Mine actually has the factory lsd, I think someone swapped it out. Don't think mine came with it. It will leave 2 real good tire marks so I plan to just shim it up. I have to tear it apart to figure what size shims, so I would like to know where I can order.

Oh that's not a pinion shim. Your looking for the VLSD shim. Parts numbers are also in the FSM's. I tried to order some about 4 months ago and the dealer said they were none listed in stock in the USA. I tried Nissanparts.org and courtesyparts.com and no luck there either.

I though you were trying to reshim for play and backlash.

the clunking must be from excessive pinion to ring backlash. you'll need the side bearing shims. i got mine from courtesyparts recently.

pull out your old shims, measure the thickness then order 1 or 2 sizes up for left side, 1 or 2 down for right side. you should be at about the right backlash

be sure to check the side bearing preload too.

While you have your diff apart this is the write up on how to shim it to tighten it up.
