first off i did search for this, and i found nothing.

i have a 92 nissan 240sx.it has tein s type lowering springs.i'm running 245 45 16 tires on 8 inch wide wheels in the rear.when i hit a small bump in the road, i get very aggressive rear end "float" it's kind of like when the tires break loose when you shift a gear. how the back end of the car shifts to the right or left.it does this even over very small bumps.i hope that makes sense.i am running stock struts in the rear, and the car has stock subframe bushings.is that my problem? it's almost to the point of scary when i drive the car now.thanks for any input guys.

you might have a blown shock the more shocks that are bad the bigger the float to check push on a corner of the car if it moves a little then your good if it moves a bunch then thats the problem. I had the same problem when I pushed on the side with the blown shock I could get the wheel that was diagonaly across from it off the ground

push the corner down, if it bounces more than once its blown. its most likely your problem, esp being lowered on stock struts. couldnt hurt to get some subframe bushings too

Sounds like your shocks have seen better days.

I agree with the struts being bad. I had the same problem in my 240 when I first bought. A new set of rear struts cleared it up nicely.
