So my Rogue's (since probably a few months after I got it) rear end makes a noise when I stop.... I think it is coming from the rear brakes, but it is like a little clunk/click right when the car comes to a complete stop. Does anyone else's Rogue make a similar noise?

Also, my brakes squeak sometimes when I'm slowing down....

In unrelated news, one of my rear door locks makes a weird sound when I turn off the car (when the doors unlock)... With only 12k miles, I'm not liking these little nagging things.

i have heard of a few people mention that clicking noise from the rear. depending how loud, i wouldnt be too concerned.

the squeaking is just brake dust. no biggie (unless its worn pads)

the door locks making a weird noise: i have a similar problem. i can really hear it from the outside when i lock/unlock my doors. it could be a gritty door lock linkage, or something similar. hopefully not the actual motor.

Wow, definitely leads credence to ImSrickens rants er commentary on Nissan using inferior parts to save weight in order to boost fuel economy. I've got a few squeaks and rattles, but nothing like what you've described. As for the rear door locks, can you record the noise and post it?

When are squeals signaling a problem?
Sometimes brake squeals are an indication that maintenance is required. Some common conditions that cause brake noise are:
* Heat cracked or worn "un-true" rotors
* Rough finish on resurfaced rotors
* Loose fitting brake pads in the caliper
* Lack of silicone compound on back of brake pad
* Missing springs or anti-rattle clips that should be on the caliper or pad
* Improper tightening sequence of lug nuts or caliper hardware

Try cleaning the caliper slides and the pad abutment points and lube them with a synthetic or ceramic-based caliper lubricant. Same goes for the clips. The shims should also be lubricated with a synthetic caliper grease.

Yeah I took the car to Nissan a couple of weeks ago and they said it was brake dust too. I washed the car and the noise was still there. Haven't heard it in the past 2 days though...

The rear door locks sounds like air being forced through a vent.... Its weird... Sounds like a vacuum turning off.....

Thanks man, if it keeps up I may try that... Or when I bring the car in to Nissan for the door locks, I may just tell them to do it...

I'll get a vid of the door lock sound today

the dust is actually INSIDE the pad air vent. its not something you can wash off, without physically dismantling the brakes. check out this video i made during my recent brake job. you will see the dust i am speaking of.

go to 2:10 into the video:
