Alright this happens during hard shifts or big pot holes. For example when i switch from 1st to 2nd, i hear a loud knock from the rear end. Kinda like a wheel hop or rear end is knocking, it also occurs during a pothole same knock. I am thikning it has to be either the strut and spring, or the rear stabilizer bar. I checked the bushing for the stabilizer bar, they seem in good shape. So im thinking its the struts. But I could be wrong, does anyone has this problem or know what this is?

I had a similar post about this a little while ago, the consensus was that the subframe bushings need to be replaced, although one person said his s-13 did that since the day he bought it brand new from the dealership. I checked my subframe bushings and they looked ok to me, so i'm gonna try the subframe collars from SPL parts when i get the money.

subframe bushings...if there is some material left you could get away with the collars, or if they are trashed buy the full inserts.

I have the full aluminum in mine and i love them. I also have the full aluminum diff bushigns too.

Nope collars go over the stock bushings, the alumin. completely replace the oem ones hence full removal of them needed.

I put the Anuminum ones on some time ago (6 months probably) and I just installed the the diff bushings (2 weeks ago).

The noise gain is minimal from the sub frame bushings. The noise gain from the diff was surprising. My drivetrain is pretty F'ed up (transmission, and diff) so I know hear all the crap that is going on, made me much more aware of my car. The only noise YOU should hear is the ring gear turning. And it sounds AWESOME. Sounds like a F$#%ing supercharer whine in the back. I love it. I have no power mods on my car, and I turn down the stereo just so I can hear the gear wind up. It rocks!

Vibration wise, it's not really that bad at all. You can hear/feel the bumps in the road but you would have heard them in the first place (does that make sense?). I definitely think both products are money well spent.

After teh subframe bushings, my car resonates pretty loud from 2000-2300 rpms...its funny, like as i go through the gears its quiet/smooth, then suddenly the car starts to vibrate and all the loose panels and things buzz, then it suddenly gets quietish again as you get past 2500. From what you've said, I'm not worried about the sounds from teh diff bushings. Hopefully I'll get them and an LSD somewhat soon. Thanks for the info

Be suer to buy the subframe bushings that also replace the upper rear subframe

I bought some aluminium ones on a GB with az240sx and they were only the bottom ones. My car still clunks quite loudly unless i shift a wierd way.

I decided to go ahead and buy aluminum subframe bushings and differential aluminum bushings all from SLP parts.

I dont think thats it, i chaged my driveshaft to Enkukus one piece aluminum. And the noise does sound like its coming from the rear. But I could be wrong
