well that sucks. It was nice of the guy to conveniently leave their License Plate number on your bumper.

i had the opposite experience this week. So on Friday my car was parked in the mostly empty lot at work...and someone managed run into my bumper and not leave a note. the bumper corner was damaged and the plastic thing underneath the car was dragging on the ground (i used zip-ties to keep it from dragging). i brought my car to the body shop on Tuesday morning. they had to replace the whole bumper and the plastic underneath. My car was ready Wednesday afternoon.
edit- the cost to get a new bump installed is $1,100. so it was minor damage compared to what you have.

I know I thought the plate transfer on my bumper was funny. All though I have whiplash. It happened 3/21/20 and I have had an excruciating headache since.

They must have been rushing to buy toilet paper.

Probably the first thing I bought was a rear black tube. Comes in chrome too.

Never been hit in the rear since I got it installed in 2009. Or at least damaged badly by another vehicle in a car accident.

Some buy hitch step bars to achieve the same effect.

Lowers probability of a rear accident, but won't save you from major damage if somebody is not paying attention, texting, reckless, or drunk.
