OK new here, with a minor problem.

So, I had 80000 trouble free on my 07 versa 6 speed. Yesterday morning I go to go to work and my car won't move. The right rear break drum has seized.

Has anyone else had this issue? What were the costs for repair (assuming it can't just be knocked loose). I assume it shouldn't be a big deal, but just looking for imput.

Also, the towtruck driver showed up today and said my car wouldn't start. Which is bizaare considering it started fine last night (I checked to see if the break had released as the weather had warmed and I was assuming it was due to a lot of the rain and heat that caused the drum to seize). I've read that some people have had issues starting their versa. I have NEVER had an issue. It has always started first turn. I have a feeling the tow-truck driver is trying to take advantage of my fiance who was there.

I like the versa a lot. It has been a good daily driver for me. It is roomy (I'm 6'2"), lots of room for my kid and the dog. My only real issue would be it doesn't give the advertised milage and the 6 speed seems to be geared REALLY short. I mean, 1st gear is pretty good for like 10kph.

Anyway, just looking for input.

Cheers

I haven't heard of any rear drums seizing up, but have heard of the Versa not starting because of the fuel pressure regulator. Let us know what you come up with.

Turned out to be a couple non-issues.

The mechanic figures that the rear brake was due to all the rain we've had lately (we've had A LOT). I drove it home in the rain Saturday night, and set the emergency brake. I didn't drive it Sunday. So the heat and rapid cooling from rain and the sitting for a bit caused it just to stick. A hammer and a peice of wood solved that problem.

And as I thought the tow truck driver was a moron. Car started fine for the mechanic. I started it first turn to take it home and to work this morning.

Car has been pretty hassle free so far. It cost me $55 for the mechanic to see my car.
