Rear drivers seat cushion uneven?

I noticed the rear seat cushion where it meets the upper part of the seat on the drivers side has a good sized gap compared to the other side and it's big enough you can stick your hand through it. I noticed this has happened to another one of our cars but I don't know why it happened to that side as normally the other side gets sat on more.
