I posted this on the chat list but noticed I hadnt had any emails on it for a while - maybe its all forum based now? anyway...I just had my exhaust replaced as it was laying in the driveway! (the cat. convert. back to the muffler) He noticed their was fluid all over inthe rear and said the rear differential was leaking pretty bad - they replaced the fluid and told me to check back in a month to see how bad the leak was - their was fluid on a lot of the rear of the car - he showed me - just not sure how long it has been leaking - I havent had any issues or noticed anything wrong so wasnt sure. Is this a common thing? he said they would have to replace the whole rear portion and would probably be around 1500 to get it fixed - but that was just gussing. Its an 89 240 auto 135kThanks for any insight.Ross

1500, you can get a used diff for probobly $100 max (open) or like $350 VLSD. clean the place were it is leaking really well and try to pin down were the leak is coming from. that will tell you what you need to replace or reseal.
