What year make and model's did Nissan put the 4.08 Ring & Pinion in? Was it the manual or auto transmission models? Turbo or NON- Turbo models? Are there any higher ratios available? If so what are the sources or who can I speak with about these? Do any members have one they are willing to sell in good condition?

the short snout R200 viscous with the 4.08 was in the 90-96 300ZX N/A , the short snout R200 with a viscous 4.08 was also found in the SE model 240SX's

I thought some of the 240sx's had the hicas? I've not ovend a 240sx yet so I know little about them, I know the 240SX SE US market came with the VLSD and I thought that was the 4.08 but I could be wrong, I mostly deal with the long snout R200 found on the 77-89 Z cars

Thanks for the Info but, are these in automatic or manual trans cars? Turbo or non-turbo models!

N/A = Natrually Aspirated = non turbo

as for auto or 5 speed I don't know I assume both, you can look at the top of the diff case and find the stamp it'll have a numerical stamp like3911, which refers to the number of teeth on the Ring gear and pinior gear respectively39 ring / 11 pinion =3.55so if you can find the numbers you'll be able to figure out what ratio it has

After a little reading. My original post was wrong. The American SE's came with the 4.08 VLSD if you got ABS ( they came as a package).

yup HICAS, and ABS were options as well as the sunroof for 95-96, I think the 97-98 were a little different because and LE model was also available.
