hello,i have 03 m45 and would like to change rear dif. fluid. I was thinking of "motul" very , very good stuff, but not sure if they make the right one. we need 80w90 lim. slip is that correct?

what would you recommend?p.s.how many qt.s i would need to get?

2 Qts. You will have some left over.

Check your manual. On the older VLSD, 75W-90 was specified. In TX, I run 75W- 140. Always synthetic, M1, Royal Purple, Amsoil have all been good to me.

I see you live in Mass.-with those temp. swings I would NOT go with a 90w streight weight gear oil like the one in your link. Does Motul make a 75w-90 gear oil? If not,Redline does,and it is one of the few{like most Motul products} that is Ester based-GREAT at both temperature extremes

75w-90 or 80w-90 is fine, especially in a full synthetic gear oil. I would think the 75w-90 would be slightly better for your climate in winter.You want a GL5 gear oil, the link you provided doesnt state the spec for the motul product. Unless you can confirm the Motul is a gl5 rated gear oil,I would just pick up some Redline or Mobil 1,both are gl5 rated and full synthetic,and proven in Infiniti applications {207,000 on mine,differential is still as quiet as new}

GL5 is standard. In MA, I would at least go 75W, not 80W. I bet you might find a 70W or even 65W if you search lubrication manufacturer's website.
