So I'm driving along and hear what sounds like a gun shot from the back seat and (after realizing I was still alive) I notice both the rear deck speakers no longer work (just some soft crackling and static). I changed the Bose head unit to test and no difference. The static seems to indicate power from the relay to the rear. What would have caused this? Thanks to all in advance for for any help.

Both left and right, at the same time?

if each speaker has its own seperate amp I believe the rear left is the master. Meaning it controls the right one.

I suggest just replacing the speakers and getting an aftermarket amp

Thanks. I tested the speakers - ok. According to wiring diagram each operates independant of the other. I'll look for replacement amps (Bose wants $140 ea for the speaker/amp unit, they don't have my amps in stock seperately). If I can't find them cheap I'll change the speakers and add an aftermarket amp.
