Just save some $$$ and just sand then just paint it the go over it with some clearcoat then your done.

i got this one at the junker, cept it had these tan pieces in them, weirdos there i tell ya.

Man, Just take the pieces out and sand and Paint them Black if blk is what your aiming for then make it simple on yourself It's not like your going to car show or a contest. G/L on your find. Take Care.
