I got 10 bucks says that's what's wrong with mine as well. It doesn't do it all the time but it sure is annoying when it does. It also doesn't creak over anything that's a stright bump, just right hand driveways that have a decent slope that would normaly flex a frame. Never creaks or anything weird under acceleration either. Thanks for that info .J-Owner wrote:I had the same issue on my '05 with a creak/pop noise coming from the rear passenger side.
I took it to the dealer and after two days they thought it was the rear strut so they replaced that and still creaked. It sounds like a creak pop or flexing of the frame on right turns.
So they continued looking and after having the car for a week and basically removing the entire back interior of the car discovered a spot weld had come loose and that as a result the passenger rear shelf deck was rubbing creating the creak noise that I desperately tried to get rid of for about 4 months.
After correcting the problem and repainting the interior skeleton, they reassembled the interior and test drove it and sure enough fixed the problem. I have not had the creak noise return. They continually told me they could not find anything wrong with it and after constantly riding their a$$ they finally looked in depth and what do you know, I was right.
Keep this in mind if they tell you that they can't find anything wrong with it as they will most likely do just that.
I doubt that you will find it to be a spring or suspension problem. But they might diagnose it as that. If you get it back fixed and that was what was wrong let us know.
Good luck.
Thanks for that extra info Mark, might have to check into that too. Got my 60K service comming up so I'll just wait for that and have them check it out .marksg35 wrote:Hi,I had the exact same issue on my 03 Sedan. I would enter my off camber driveway and it would make a hollow ping or pop from the rear suspension. It would also do that when the car would shift into 3rd gear when the initial acceleration would kind of back off. It would do it when the rear end was not quite under load. PING! like the rear spring was floating around.Anyway, I got the dealer to take a look at it and wouldn't you know it, what they found (and were cool enogh to show me) was a large rock had kicked up and gotten trapped in the suspension in such a way that it knocked up against the fuel tank shield (just forward of the rear suspension on the right side of the car) under certain circumstances. They removed the rock and I have not heard the noise since. I would never have believed it unless I saw it on the lift myself at the dealer.Hope this helps.Mark
