Replacing rear shocks and wondering if I need to do the coil springs as well.

I have an 2002 with 150,000km. I believe the shocks and coil springs are original.

Is there something I can do to test if I need new coil springs? Like measure from the top of the tire to the fender?

Thanks

Suspension needs to be replaced after every 50 thousand miles (recommended) so everything should be replaced according to your budget.

The suspension section of the FSM lists the ride height measurement processand numbers.

Springs generally don't go bad. I've 176,000 miles on my '01, and the springsare fine. The original shocks are still in and pass the bounce test. I have hadto do control arm bushings twice on one side and once on the other (and theother is getting due).

I bought my pathfinder with 120,000miles on it and the shocks were completely done. I had my parents and my mechanic test drive it before i bought it and they all told me to jack that s*** up, so i did. Now it's bad-a** instead of looking like a family wagon.
