Rear Camera Dryer

Been a great vehicle thus far but one annoying aspect is how clouded the rear backup camera gets every time it rains. Nissan does have an accessory for it called a Rear Camera Dryer. It appears to blow air across the lens when Reverse gear is engaged. Anyone have experience with this product? Any insight into how difficult of an install this is?

It only applies to the '25~'26's and as far as I know we haven't installed one yet, but it doesn't look terribly complicated. No drilling, you just need to slightly modify the camera mounting hole with a round file (printable template supplied). Here's a link to the installation instructions if you want to take a look:

Was optimistic there'd be no splicing until Figure 4.40, which appears to show some wire cutting. Is that how you interpret that step?

Tangentially, Nissan really should have made this standard equipment. I can understand offering a luggage carrier or all weather mats as an upcharge but for the top trim model "tech" like this really should have been included.

It's funny, I think the only reason they're offering it is because something about the hatch design on the newest Armadas catches water and people complained. I don't think any other models have the issue. So in that sense, it's probably an add-on because it's an afterthought that corrects an unanticipated engineering glitch.
