The rear tires on my wife's 1991 M30 tend to wear faster on the inside. Although the car steers pretty well, it seems as though it doesn't want to stay straight on the road; i.e., it seems like you're always making miniscule wheel corrections. I have the feeling it may be because there is too much camber on the rear wheels....you cans visually see a little lean inward. Is the rear camber fixed or adjustable?

The rear camber <is> adjustable and this is usally part of an alignment.

It is possible that due to worn spring or bent suspesnion parts your camber may not be all the way adjustable to factory spec anymore but this is some thing a aligment shop can judge.

Also, too much negaitve camber does not tend to weaken your control actaully (within reason) it tends to make handling sharper.

So you may have a seperate issue lurking in your suspension.

The same thing happened to my car after I had the rear suspension replaced because the rear suspension felt too weak. The rear suspension would make this loud bang noise after going over humps like speed bumps. It just got worse over the years. Replacement without proper diagnosis was a bad idea, since the rear now bobs up and down like a stupid lowered vehice at freeway speeds giving the car a worse ride than before, but at least it doesn't bang over speed bumps now. However, I'd rather have an overall smoother ride.

I suspect the mechanic who replaced the suspension didn't do anything else, like check the specs for the suspension, wheels, alignments, etc after replacing the suspension. So I agree to have your suspension, alignment checked.

I'm still looking for a reputable shop in my area who has plenty of expertise with M30's. I took mine to my Infiniti dealer who only made all these other suggested (and unnecessary) fixes which totaled over 2 Gs.

I immediately checked to see if the date was 4/1. It wasn't.
