Changing the brake pads on the back... I used a C-Clamp as always to push the piston down into the caliper and NOTHING. Won't budge even a millimeter... both sides!?!???

The E-brake is disengaged...I even checked to see if the system was under pressure by releasing the valve at one of the calipers and the c-clamp still wouldn't press down.

Either I am missing something (I hope) or I need to replace these.

they screw back in. there's a tool with 4 nubs that fit into the notches on the piston, or you can use needle nose pliers to catch the notches and screw it back in. don't worry, lots of new 240 owners get caught up with that same problem. i found out the hard way, but i eventually figured it out.

Just make sure you get the actual tool to screw it back in next time. That cube sucks badly. I remember te first time I used it, had to apply lots of pressure as I pushed it in because it kept on slipping out on the little pins.

I've always just used needle nose plyers to rotate them back in.

I ended up using large pliers.

what happens when you screw it in and it doesnt go down all the way? went down 90% then just spins... not enough room to get the new pads in :\

There does come a point when it just spins. Mine was the same way... I was still able to just 'barely' get the rotor in though.

I did the same thing and must of pressed it sooo hard with a c-clamp that it musta cut the threads or something and locked it up and burnt the S! out of those pads

Yeah it's about an 1/8" IIRC

Mine was snug...

Did you replace the rotors? If so you may have the wrong ones on the wrong side. The fronts and back have different widths.

I didn't use a tool when I had to move that stupid thing back. I just grabbed it using plyers and twisted it with my man power lol
