Rear Caliper Piston Popped out..too far!

Hi,

While inspecting the left rear brake (noise) I removed pads and screwed in the piston (caliper). When I put hte pads and capliper back and pressed on the brake pedal the piston did not go back. Took it apart and then pressed on the piston and it then came out. Unfortunately too far! It does not seem to want to move back in. I have tried screwing it but I believe it is too far. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
