So, I woke this morning to find that my rear passenger side caliper locked up over night i am guessing. It was about 15 to 20 degrees that night and i was thinking that maybe the breakfluid froze up inside the caliper causing it to lock to my rotor.

I woke up early so i could take it to the dealership because i just got the new calipers this year from nissan. So i drove down the road with break stuck to the roator and wheel barly turning. The break heated up pretty fast and all of a sudden there was no tension on the break anymore. I was thinking that it could have just been frozen from the weather and it just warmed up enough to melt the ice.

So the question is, should i go to the dealership just to make sure my caliper is not effed up or is it fine?

Went out to my car to go grab some lunch and it is still frozen. I am going to have to take it to the dealership that put the caliper on. It should have a warratee that is still valid since i did get it put on this year from nissan.

You should not drive it with the caliper locked up. Otherwise you might have to replace the rotor and of course the break pad because it will have worn down, depends on how far the delarship is.

Normally it's a good idea, when dealing with brake or suspension components, to replace both sides at the same time.

New caliper is on, 2 weeks later, my new caliper locks up once more. So now collins will not give me a loaner, and will not drive me home or to the dealership from work. I am stranded and I let them know this and they could care less.

They should replace it free of charge as a service part warranty. Hell I'd make them pay to have it towed there to have it fixed. However, they are under no obligation to give you a loaner. Try calling Nissan customer service, and tell them what's going on.

they fixed my car under the service parts warranty. I was just pretty mad that they held my car for 2 weeks then didnt even bleed my breaks properly, then the caliper froze again and i was out a car for almost 3 days.

Guess what, looks like when i started up my car to go on my way to the gym, the new caliper locked up. WTF!!!!!

How can 3 calipers frezee up on me? Cold weather? Maybe, but the first time it happened it was 30 degree weather. So i am sure that a caliper is supposed to work under 30 degree weather. Why is it doing this on that one side? bad calipers from nissan???

So......,,,, I am very pissed and ready to grab a bat and start beating something.

I'm having a similar issue with my 96 Acura TL.

Right rear caliper. Just replaced. Brand new caliper and pads and the damned thing is locking. To top it off, despite bleeding the brakes, I have next to no pedal and the ebrake has no effect whatsoever.
