rear bumper shaved????

people with 89-94? s-13 hatchback

hey just wondering who if any have shaved the back bumper or wants to, and any though on that,

by shaving i mean make it look like a corvette or somthing, maybe add individual oval tail lights like a vette

i am working on this and a custom 1" cowl hood with a 1" by about 7" ram air port just above core support also working on the top of hatch mount led 3rd brake lightmentioned in another post of mine

would appretiate any input about these things guys X

^what if he wants a show car? You didn't pay for the car so keep your rash comments to a minimum. I'm sure I could nit pick and find something wrong with your car, too. Corvette tails on a 240 would be original in a sense.

but domestic tail lights on an import car (especially the 240) would just be kind of rice. Not only that but it would be SUPER expensive to have done right. There was this 97 acura integra around here that had it done for about $6000 and it looked goofy as hell

ummm...i can understand shaving the bumper, alright. the skyline lights, i guess i understand that. but i'm just as against this corvette taillight idea as most everybody else. i'd say at least stick with nissan tails (there are lots of them out there to choose from) and good luck.

wow, instead of helpful suggestions most of you people talk s**t, what a bunch of pricks.

xdreams, spend your money however u want to, but the corvette light idea is a bit "ricer", but as long as its on a nissan the skyline idea isnt so bad.

ok, your talking about taking the bumper off and just taking the line of the hatch down?sounds cool... the vette lights... what ever floats your boat, my dad thinks the 240 looks some what like a snub vette.

mmmm I think that a set of skyline tail might be ok, but lots of ppl swap to other manufactures tails, (theres an eclipse with supra tails here in town ugly as hell) but whatever, whats wrong with 240 tails u dont like them?

why do a tail light swap? why not just make some custom tail lights that look sweet? and the shaved bumper COULD look good, but it probably wont because it'll look too top heavy i think

yes solaris, about like that., when i got my first 240, an 89, loaded, 5sp, i had just rented a 00' vette, and i though it handled alot like the vette, so hey, you know s13 came in 89', so what else man, i was a chevy guy, big deal, i dont need sarcasm, just honest thoughts about these things, the whole reason for the rear roll pan is ,,, well, i like clean lines, i like the curves to flow and not get interupted by a 1" line, or a big weatherstir trim thing, or a oversized bulky and none allighned tail light.. the bumper i think, makes it kinda look like a truck. and the tail lights could use some refining,, that and i like the way a vette looks at night real far away.. you can tell it apart,,, ok so maybe i wont use chev parts, maybe skyline, or universal lights,, maybe all you really smart people could give me some pics and info on other lights to use... S14 life hey maybe you dond need anything but a ghetto one head light to get air to your stock wanna be fast car thats just like the rest of ours but i will need serious air comin in to the motor once done and serious downforce, so what better way than a full active (NOT SHOW) cowl hood with ram air

so anyway, how about some CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM

Dude, that ram air hood scoop is going to be awesome. Your FI inline 4 will make huge use of all that fresh air blowin strait down the 4-barrel....

a ram air hood scoop will help if he puts a seal box around the intake so there is just straight air and no engine air going into the intake... it will look wierd because the place of the intake is not centered so it will look lopesided...

any criticism can be constructive in the right hands.

my thoughts on the tail are:if you're shaving the rear bumper, go for LED taillights. they're nice 'n bright and look great when used properly. go for a complete custom shape. or redo the 240 tails in LED, with some sort of twist. round them out more, or make the brake lights bigger and put the amber turn signal way outside, or delete the turns all together, just use the tails. you could have spiral taillights that when you turn on the blinker they spiral red lights. use your imagination.

oye i hate people that put just the tail lights on the car. Stop getting other cars tail lights. If its the 180sx tails on a HB cool. stop posing. Spend that money on the tails on something to make your car faster. Sure 180sx tails are 500 bux but .... if your done with your car why not do looks?

Just my opinion but...I don't exactly agrere with vette tails.....skyline could be interesting....you can get some from wholesalehyperformance.com or wholesalehyper.com ...I guess the decided to shorten it recently. Thats one of my favorite sites for jdm stuff and body kits......I think s2000 tails would be pretty sweet...

..but damn...why did you half of you have to be ASSES about this...he asked for opinions...not *****ing and moaning about 'hating people who put other tails on their cars'.......

I HATE people who modify the appearance of their car in any way not performance oriented or that is blatant enough for me to notice. If you change something and I dont notice it within a few seconds of looking at your car, it's probably ok. But if I see it right away, ewww. Skyline tails would suck, it's a 240 not a Skyline, if you had Corvette tails, it'd suck more and so would the car. How's that for ya JaGstANg? enough of an *** post for ya? :D:D:D

trust me, it wouldnt all be for looks,, got plenty other mods, on and going on, BY THE WAY, IM SHOPPING FOR SUPERCHARGERS NOW,, DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH BOOST I CAN RUN ON A KA24DE, FULLY BUILT, 8.5-1 COMPR, BORED 30 OVER, , I MEAN FULLY BUILT, JE PIS, CROW ROD, CUSTOM VALVE, BLA BLA BLA.i need to know a round about max the engine will hold, to get a charger that will push it ,, what do you guys think about adding a 200 shot to this setup too,, i dont know alot about nos, so,,, but i was told by my guy that it should hold a 200shot with a near max psi charger,2 sec long sprays...

THOUGHTS??????

If your going for LOTS of boost, why would you want a supercharger? I can see it for augmenting the low end, but at high boost they are much less efficient than turbo's. Also, who the heck only spray's for 2 seconds? the on again off again nature would make a FAST car hell to handle down a track. It's either all or nothing as far as I'm concerned. I can see running nitrous on a window switch, but not just turning it on and off every 2 seconds. If you do go with the supercharger idea, a centrifugal style would probably best suit your needs.
