Rear Bumper Protector

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

^ What a useless Link ^

He doesn't want a Rubber Bumper, he wants one of these...

Here's a thread on it >>> post4818954.html

In the above thread, there is some mention of getting the one made for the Nissan Murano. That one looks a little different, but it is a whole lot cheaper >>> http://nissan.dealerfit.com/store/nissa ... _32034.php You'd have to check it for fitment. It appears to have a little Lip on it, that overhangs. Not sure how much it overhangs and it could touch the Sonar buttons that we have stuck into our Rear Bumper.

Back to the Infiniti ones...

No Picture on this listing >>> http://infiniti.dealerfit.com/store/inf ... _31321.php

Here's one that has Pictures >>> http://infiniti.sewellparts.com/accesso ... 8-190.html

Not sure how it would look... the curvature might be slightly different.

Check out this eBay Auction for a Rubber one. The Curvature is slightly off, cause it tries to be a one-fits-all.

Once you open the link, just wave your Cursor over the Pictures.

You might even be able to gently bend the Rubber to match your curvature.

Some Cars it looks good on, some others not so much.

^ On my wishlist along with Weathertech floormats + Cargo Mat + In-Channel RainGuards + Illuminated Door Sills. $147 sounds like a steal compared to what me dealer quoted me.

The picture in the above posts is my car. I paid the dealer price for the bumper protector and it is not nearly as good as the one on my '09 Murano which comes over the bumper, which is probably the area that needs protecting the most. The Murano one cost 1/3 less that the Infiniti one.

I made a cardboard cutout of the rear bumper of the Murano and held it to the bumper on the '08 Infiniti and the curve is slighly more rounded on the Infiniti, so a Murano bumper cover will not fit correctly.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Gordo36 for the info.
Do you think that the slight curve difference could be due to the card board effect. In other words are sure 100% that it does not fit?

The only way you can be 100% sure is to buy one of the Murano rear bumper protectors and try it, but I think there would be a slight gap in the middle of the bumper.

Find a local Dealer that has one and ask the Parts guy to come out with you to your Car and do a trial fit.

It is ridiculous how expensive it is, 3 times the cost for the one for the Murano and it doesn't even come over the edge.

Ok to make this thread that I posted Earlier clearer, I did install the rear oem bumper protector back in 2008. The fact is that every time I wash the car there`s a lot of water dripping out from the front edge, and I have to re-wipped a couple of time after driving (black car). I thing that the Murano RBP could have solved that problem because of that lip.
