Mine came from manufacture but I bought it last year online for my dads versa. Caz I was traveling and when he picked me up from airport I scratched his bumper with the luggage case. I think I paid about $30 for that protector and installed it by myself in less than 5 min. Very easy to install. Clean the area where you going to put the protector then follow the arrow that in the middle. That should be at the same spot as your trunk lock. It sticks with 3M tape at the bottom. That's it.

What type of adhesive is used, they mentioned double stick tape, but when I used 3m double stick on my bed caps of my truck, they didn't make the caps stick flush. Thus, causing a space where water and dirt could get in.Is the adhesive that you get with this protectors better??If brought to dealership, will they put it on any differently than I would?? You know like make sure it's flush with no gapsThanksBarry

I installed mine myself, and like Leo said, it is straight forward, just take your time testing it before. The dealer will do the same as you and me, and maybe with less attention as he is time constraint and this is not his car.

I don't see any gap but cannot say for sure water is not going under. After close to one year, it is still on the car .

I kinda messed mines up. A little opening on one side of the edge. The worst thing that is going to happen is falling off. No biggie.

I added some extra 3M tame to the protector to make sure it won't fall off but don't see any space between protector and bumper.

It is the same part. Courtesy Parts just uses their own internal parts numbers.

I would suggest supporting our site sponsors by purchasing this accessory from them. The links are on the right sidebar =>

Here are the direct links:

The rear bumper protector is very easy to install. Anyone can install it in minutes. Just follow the directions that come with in the box. It's held in place with very sticky 3M tape... it will never come off.

BTW, once you install the bumper protector do not use the bumper as a step. It's not designed to support a person's weight and you likely risk cracking the bumper or slipping off and injuring yourself.

There is no gap if you install it right, don't just wing it, follow the directions exactly, do a bunch of dry fits before actually sticking it on, and you'll be ok. It'll never come off, the worst thing that can happen is not having it fall off, but sticking it on crooked or so that there is a gap at the angle, that would be the worst case scenario because you just have to live with it, I don't know of any way of getting it off.
