The only thing from stoppin my 240 from being on the road ismy rear brakes dont workmy front are working fine but my rears...not so much.My and my dad tried a few things with no success, the brakes were bled properlyand we tried turning the pistons in and out.Theyll grab with the ebrake but with the pedal they wont.Any ideas?

ebrake uses a cable and isn't connected to the rest of the break system. sounds like your not getting pressure to the calipers.

what I would do is open up the bleeders on both rear calipers and make sure there getting fluid. If they are, sound like the piston is jammed, or something is blocking the fluid in the caliper from forcing the piston to move. If thats what's happening, you need a caliper rebuild or much simpler, just replace it. haven't checked but I don't think stock rear calipers are all that expensive.

if fluid doesn't come out of the bleeder, disconnect the line going into the caliper and see if it flows from there, if it does your caliper is still bad. if it doesn't I'd start looking at the master cylinder.

in any case, I'd bleed the brakes really really well again, just to make sure.

Also, why do you need the rear brakes to get it on the road? some smaller cars don't even have rear brakes except for the ebrake, I'd think you could pass an inspection if the front brakes worked.

i put the rear on stand tonight and got it goin then hit the brakes. they stopped the wheels right away.one thing tho is that when i hit the brakes with it in gear and dont push the clutch in it wont stall the vehicle in the higher gears...the brakes dont have enough power to totally stop the driveshaft. im ganna attempt to re-bleed the whole system really well again and see where i am after that.

and i need the rears cuz it takes a long time to stop. i slam on the brake and it slows my down but doesnt have enough stoppin power to skid even.basically...if i had to stop right away...i couldnt.

Yeah that really sounds like you've got air in the lines. It should be fine when you do that second bleed, just make sure you do it really well.

if thay are new pads thay may need broken in. a few runs (4 or 5) to 50 and heavy hard brake application, almost to breaking traction should heat them up good enuff to set them, then a modest breaking cruize (mabey 10 to 15 min in town so you use em) should do the trick. if not i would look at my bleading job and possibly consider changeing the brake master cyl (bad internal seals).

at the perportioning vavle(master cyl) crack open the line that heads to the rear. gently give it a lil pressure to see if fluid comes out. if it does, id say to bleed the master then get under the car and start checking for kinks/obstructions. but most likely its the vavle and youll need a new master

When you bleed the brakes does fluid shoot out or just drip? Could be a master cylinder.
