I wouldn't say there arent any but they look very low when i'm looking through the rims. I have a M45 sport so the rims have big enough gaps for me to see the size of the brake pads. I was thinking if they were that low and passed MD inspection then maybe they arent that bad but they look very thin.ArbitrageMan wrote:3 weeks?? I would definitely say something to the dealer. He cant sell you a car with no back brakes. Theres got to be some rule against that.
Yea, I need to take my car in because the driver seat moves when applying brakes or taking off as well as the center console arm rest on the passenger side moves with any pressure on it without pulling on the lever. Like it has no resistances. So I'll bring up the rear brakes when I take it in.maqueswell wrote:In Texas they have a 'Lemon Law' I would check the local laws when buying a used vehicle, and see if having bad brakes apply.
Mad Max
Don't you think the dealer should of changed the brakes before I bought it 3 weeks ago. I bought it at infiniti dealer but was not certified. If they are as low as I see it, it shouldnt have passed inspection.jedgington wrote:I recently got my rear brake pads replaced and rear rotors turned (at 28000 miles, there was only 3 mm of pad left and the rotors were rough). Since it was a wear-out item, I just had it done at the local Nissan dealer. Don't know if it was a good price or not, but the total was $150.
Yes I bought from Jim Coleman Infiniti in Bethesda. Have you dealt with them? If not have you heard positive things about them?ArbitrageMan wrote:...also, I hope you have a positive experience at your dealer. (Im assuming you got the car from Jim Coleman in Bethesda?) There are plenty of other infiniti dealers around... Infiniti of Tysons Corner is not far. Alexandria, Chantilly.
Well I have an appointment with them on Wednesday. When I called, I mentioned the brakes so we'll see what comes out of it. If they don't replace it, I'll think about doing it myself or get a friend to help me.InfinitiMe wrote:I've dealt with Jim Coleman. The people are nice, but don't expect them to go out of their way an inch. I guess most dealerships don't.
I'm also glad I didn't get suckered into buying an M from them. I ended up buying a certified preowned M35x from Colorado with 11k miles and had it shipped to me. I saved 3 grand over the 2006 non-X JC wanted to sell me with 26k miles on it. That's after shipping too. But then this is the DC area. Didn't expect anything different.
Now I'm considering all new brakes on the car and I'm dreading to hear what JC is going to want to charge for labor.
