So I go to work, everything is whisper quiet. I get in my car and leave and I hear...tst,tst,tst,tst,tst,,tst,tst,tst.

I figure a rock or something hung up in the brakes...

Won't go away...

Go home pull rear wheel.....Shoes are GONE...GONE..NADA

The car never gave any indication of a problem...Never made a sound...Brakes worked fine...

I have never had a car wear out rear brakes at 20K.

Anyway...I am now in an emergency....It is now after 1:00pm and I have to pick up my Kid at preschool at 2:30.

Call to autozone..He look them up One set of rotors for an SE..... and he Goes whoa.....I said how much...50 a piece. Hell, I thought that was nothing..My 92 Lude were 119 for generics a pop.

Anyway...Of course this **** only happens when it is below 10 degrees...

Mission accomplished....Real easy to change....Not easy to brake the bottom bolts loose.

Any one ever experience the no noise, no warning from the rear brakes???

The rotors were GOUGED!!

wow that sucks. i know that if you have a handbrake you can tell when your pads are getting close to finished. if you are able to pull it up past 6 clicks and there is very little force than time will come to change the brakes. when my car was brand new, it only took 2 clicks to engage the handbrake. i dont know if this is the same with the foot brake.

Thats crazy, my dad just had to get his pads installed, in the rear as well on his '05 Altima 2.5 with 75,000km on it...apparently he said he didn't hear any warning noises either and was afraid the rotor got etched, but thankfully it was alright. The pads cost us $120 a pair....weirdly however the front pads still have about 6-7000km to go according to the mechanic...

I had my SE coupe in for its first oil change @ 3500 miles and the dealer did a routine inspection and found that the front rotors needed to be replaced. It was done under warranty. Perhaps there is an issue here??

Mine warped at about 3K as well..

I fought with dealer to replace them..would not, just cut them

Warped again.....Cut again, samd fight with them...

Warped again..Had no choice, they had to replace because they were to thin to cut.

Sounds like the same problem they had with the 2004-2005 Armada's. Eventually they did a voluntary recall to replace rotors due to warping......

Just some similar personal experience.
