I am going to replace rear brake pads soon and just wanting to see if there are any how-to's. Ive replaced front pads, but never rear and I am just curious to see if there is much difference.

We have lots of How To's on here and i checked the How to page and could not find one. Furthermore, i kept getting an error when trying to load the FAQ page. nevertheless,

anyone know of any tutorials on this or could offer advice?

I am going to do rears first, then I will do fronts. I want to put on some J Hook rotors (or something similar) anyone have experience with them? otherwise, can you suggest a good aftermarket rotor, i prefer either slotted or drilled, whichever is best. I do not have sport or brembo brakes.

Also, once I remove the caliper, when replacing rotors, is there a special tool required to take the rotor off?

The rotor replacement for rear is basically identical to the front. I recommend Stop Tech slotted or SP Performance. Can't go wrong with either choice.

could anyone tell me what size socket or hex is required to remove the two bolts that hold the calipers on? and is it the same for the rear?

The caliper to torque member bolts should be 14mm. The torque member to spindle bolts are 17/19mm. Those will have to be removed to get the rotor off. If just a brake pad change, then only the 14mm bolts will need to be removed.

Whenever you are ready to order, let me know.
