This is my first Post........

94 Q45 Stock, 78,000mi., 2nd owner. since 60,000mi. 4yrs.

After the car sits overnight, it feels like the rear brakes come on after about 10' of backing down the driveway. Is this some strange saftey feature? Sometimes I can pump the pedal and this sensation goes away. After that first morning "backup", everything seems normal.

While I'm thinking about it, what is the procedure for setting the TPS sensor. Seems like I have to press the accel. pedal down way to much for the trans. to down shift in traffic, taking a little slack out of the cable helped, or maybe the TPS is bad?

Love the car, just don't drive it that much.......

Thanks........

This is normal.. the ABS pump does its self test this way.. Completely normal..

The TPS is adjusted from the factory and as long as it isnt messed with it doesnt need adjustment... its designed not to have violent downshifts until you press it all the way.. So if your in 2nd gear going about 20 or so it wont shift into 1st until you give it gas all the way. Same is true for highway, it wont downshift to 2nd until you press it all the way...

I like this better, because with our GTP you press it a lot of the way and it downshifts... Very annoying.. There is a clicky thing at the end of the pedal (technical term being the kickdown switch) that activates this.....

Well the interior is fine with just normal wear, the outside paint has a few scratches on the rear (bumper) and the rear glass, from Hurricane Ivan (shingles). I need to buff out the hood because of some bad wax (or whatever) from a drive thru carwash. I did replace my antenna mast 4yrs.ago, and it still works!! The one on my Maxima crapped out in less than a year after I bought the car new. Looks like the same antenna to me.....

The only thing I dislike about this car is the BBS Chrome spoke wheels....they have become pitted and the brake dust is a bear to clean....in my opinion...they're UGLY!!!!

And I also hate the BOSE stereo......the worlds most overrated stereo.....my rear speakers distort in cold weather.....weather warms and they sound OK.

The Bose in my Maxima lasted 2 years, and totally quit working.....

Otherwise, it's a great car for trips to the Pensacola Airport, and 500mi. romp to Houston......

Lots and lots of old threads on where to send your amps for rebuilding. Amps from other 90s cars with the Bose system will work too (Cadillac, Mazda, Honda/Acura) -- but wont sound the same.

Many prefer to just buy a new stereo and new speakers.

IN all honesty the 94 Q45 with the bose completely rebuilt sounds VERY good... im impressed...

I would install a completely different sound system... Bose is nice when working but so much more can be had with aftermarket.....

Hard to beat the built in equalization modules in the Bose amps since they actually measured the acoustic properties of the 90Q and 94Q interiors. They are different because of the different leather. The tweeters were needed because the softer leather was more absorbant at high frequencies.

Unfortunately most teenagers and adults have suffered severe hearing response losses so a FLAT system may lack above 3-4k to these impaired owners.

The Bose has a hard time creating ABNORMAL Bass [synthetic] ------great for Classical but Rock created with 10- 15" speakers cannot be reproduced with a 4" or even a 6x9" with any efficiency! What would take 100 watts with a single 15" would need 16 ---- 4" and 1,600 watts to create the same sound level.

An interesting mix and match is to use a spare front amp module with one rear [the passenger side] 6x9 the bass comes up and to me it sounds better......discovered by mistake in fixing a bad rear amp........the right side is the sum [L+R] channel in Stereo FM, so all sound components are on the right front and rear.
