did you check over the seals and make sure the piston was free moving? Also did you check for the thickness of the rotor? Or did you also check over the pad's compounds, some need some time to heat up before they get good.

You need the following tool to compress the rears correctly. The pegs go in the slots on the face of the piston.

Turn it clockwise to compress the piston.

You could also carefully use needle-nose pliers, by opening them about an inch, and inserting their tips into the slots on the face of the piston and turning. Be careful not to slip and puncture the dust boot if you do this.

You could also use a big slotted screwdriver, by sliding the side of the tip into one of the four slots on the piston, and turning using the added leverage.

I've used both of these methods, and they both work well. Although there is a special tool as previously mentioned, you don't need it to get the job done.

To get it done, no, you don't need it.

To get it done right without the possibility of slipping and damaging the piston's dust boot, yes, you do.

yeah and be sure not to use it with an impact/air gun. haha i wondered why and stuck an impact in it and got it stuck. took like 3 diff extentions to get out out. and now i know why it says that, and you do too incase it tempts you like it did me.not that i was actually going to use an impact/air gun with it... but like the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat.
