rear brake caliper backet..

so...i went to change my rear brakes today and i found out that one of the sliding pins in the caliper bracket was stuck inside... so i tried wd-40...nope...then i torched it...still stuck...where can i get this besides the junkyard? ii checked most of the autopart stores around and they dont have it..

i would just replace the whole thing, 100 something at a auto parts store and when you bring the core back you get some of the money back so itll be around $70

I have had many guide pins rusted into the bracket. Get a wrench and some penatrating lube. Lube it up good and let it sit. Then put the wrench on the end and turn. You might need a friend or a bench vise but turning it will losen it up. Once it turns alot get a vise grip and connect it to the end. At this point try and turn and pull at the same time. Some times I hit the end with a hammer to try and brake up some of the rust. I have done this many times and it works every time. Once they are free, you can salvage the pin by sticking it in a drill and spining it. Then take sandpaper and steel wool to it and clean it up. Follow by cleaning the braket hole. If you dont wana use the same pins you can get them at your local auto store for cheap. Then get some good lithium grease and lube them up and reassemble them. Works every time!
