Hi,

I`m in pursuit of a pair of 84-86 rear brake brackets. Thing is, I have found two left side calipers with brackets. My question is, are the brackets interchangeable from left side to use on the right side?

Hallå Your English is just fine! It may take a little while for the right person to find your post and chime in. In the meantime, there's a link in my signature line to all of the FSM's we have available, and they're free. Hopefully you'll find something of use there.

Lycka till!

Also, if you could post a picture, or a link to what you're looking for, that might help.
Some people might call them something different, but a picture is worth a thousand words :)

Hi guys,

These Nissan manuals are great! Found some other important info. The word used in Nissan manual are Torgue members. Page 12 in link below

Here is a picture as well, stolen from google

One way to continue my research would be to find the parts/article number on the Torgue members. If the left and right side has the same parts/article number, it means they are equal on both side and can be use on both sides.

Anyone know where I might find Nissan OEM parts/article numbers?

Nice! Thats a start.
Does the FSM have the part numbers in the exploded diagrams?
If not, I'd suggest looking into rockauto.com or one of the major auto parts companies websites to see if they're the same.

Courtesy Nissan should have them listed by what they call them in the fsm.
www.courtesyparts.com
If you can't find it there, you can always call them. They are pretty darn knowledgeable most of the time.

Try http://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/ You can enter your VIN to get a more accurate list of parts. Here's an example of what I found:

This is what people generally refer to as a calliper hanger. If you buy loaded callipers they usually include the "hangars". I'm also curious as to why exactly you are in need of a part that so seldom gets replaced?

I like to thank all who has taking matters into my concern!

So far I haven't found caliper hangars/torgue members/brackets sold separately on all the websites + many more. I will continue making some calls and hope for the best. If I'm out luck, I'm afraid i have to let this idea slide.

To explain why I´m doing this. I have an 200sx s14 and looking for an upgrade on my rear brakes. A setup that needs to be street legal approved by...... which complicates things. There are lots of different upgrades but this setup will suite my aftermarket knuckles and modified stock e-brake. With these brackets I would go from 258mm to 300mm braking discs.

oh, I'd honestly be surprised to find that the Z31 callipers wont fit the S13 hangars. I thought they were basically the same as the Z31 and S130 aside from the angle of the parking brake bracket. Rockauto sells the semi loaded, which includes the caliper and bracket or hanger or whatever you want to call it starting at about $70. of course if the goal is to move your caliper out 42mm why not just make a spacer z plate that bolts to the hub and then the caliper can bolt to the bar where you need it, a couple of pieces of 3/8 plate and a couple of nuts a touch of welding and done.
