Hey,

I'm looking to replace the rears in my 93 J30. I'm wondering if I can swap out the 6x9's from a '91 Cadillac CTS? I don't know the rating of the Cadillac speakers, and I don't have the OEM amps for the stock BOSE rears. Thanks.

A lot depends on which head unit you're running. If you still have the Bose then no speaker is going to sound good unless it has it's own amp. If you've switched head units to aftermarket then you don't want to use a Bose speaker (bypassing the amp) since the ohm rating is low (1 or 2).

I'm not sure what system the 91 CTS has in it but if it's a Bose get the speaker and amp attached to it and it will bolt right in. The J30 6x9 Bose speaker is very nice (I have a pair in my Q45) so if it's just a pair of amps you're missing I have some nice ones here:

Thanks for the info.

I still have the factory BOSE HU in the J. The Cadillac did have a factory BOSE system in it so i'm assuming the speakers have the amps on them. I'll find out soon. If not, please set aside two rear amps for a '93 J if you still have them.

The caddy will have what you need as long as no aftermarket conversions have been done. The J and the CTS both have 6 pin connectors at the amp and the J has a 4 pin connector on the other end that connects to the main wiring harness. If the caddy has a 6 pin connector don't fret, I have 4 pin pigtails for the J30 also.
