whats wrong with your head?Master_Tao wrote:ok, so I was just browsing automotive machine & supply and they have a ca18de remanufactured head for a 87 pulsar I was just wondering if it would work on my ca18det?
nah, upon closer inspection they're the same... if you have a JDM head to pull that plug from you'll be fine. your JDM head has the hole for the EGR just like the pulsar on the #4 runner it just has a plug!float_6969 wrote:Remember that the USDM heads have a port in the #4 exhaust port for EGR whereas the JDM head's don't.
nothing that I know of, I was just going to get one to be safe but I've been convinced by a friend that it's not necessary. I do need to know however what I should be checking for problems. I've also read about solid lifter upgrades. What are those all about? and one more question. what other head upgrades are availible for the ca18det?Not_a_sr wrote:whats wrong with your head?
Unless you've noticed something wrong its likely the only thing in your head that should need replacing is the spark plugs. As for solid lifters, they'd be the last "upgrade" you'd be considering, really only applicable for a 9K RPM race motor. They're noisy and need regular adjustment. You'd have tossed a fair amount of money at high lift cams and stiffer springs before they came into play.Master_Tao wrote: nothing that I know of, I was just going to get one to be safe but I've been convinced by a friend that it's not necessary. thanks for the info. I've been wondering just that for a while now. And sadly enough the engine does not run yet. I'm still about a month away from that.redamnavit wrote:
